The evolution of the worlds most successful Enduro platform! Working with Enduro World Champion Jerome Clementz, Cannondale made his winning bike even winning-er with all-new geometry, a new Fox DYAD rear shock tune with increased travel, and of course, 27.5 wheels. You don't have to be Jerome to appreciate its perfect-for -Enduro dual nature - you just have to want the most versatile all-mountain bike out there. With suspension travel, which can be adapted during the ride from 95 mm to 16 mm, and a geometry that can transformed instantly from an agile trail bike to a stable downhill bullet it's perfect for all Enduro racers, or all-mountain shredders who want to climb fast, but want to descend even faster across the whole range of mountain terrain. Lurking inside the new Fox DYAD RT2 are two different shocks - one short travel (Elevate) and one long travel (Flow) - which are activated by a handlebar switch. The 215 Dyad gets a redesigned Flow mode piston engineered to complement changes Cannondale have made to the SuperMax PBR Trail Damper. The new piston enables better oil flow for improved mid-to-high speed compression damping performance. This results in smoother, more supple mid to high speed performance. Like the SuperMax, these changes will be especially noticeable on small, sharp bumps, square edge hits and chatter/washboard bumps at speed. Sag optimized at 3% instead of 4% resulting in more usable/positive travel and increased ride height for better pedal clearance. Significantly wider range of rebound damping adjustment, thanks to increased oil flow. ELEVATE: In this mode, the shock behaves like a short travel, XC-ish air shock. The Flow chamber is completely closed off and only the Elevate side of the shock is active. All oil is routed solely through Elevate damping circuits. Damping and Shock response is optimized for climbing and rolling terrain. Performance not compromised. High-speed, long travel damping is handling by separate circuit. Air spring volume is reduced / Spring rate gets very steep and progressive. This reduces travel for a snappy, efficient pedaling feel. Controls unwanted suspension movement via spring rate, rather than with extra compression damping like traditional shocks. This allows free and fluid movement through the first part of the stroke, for smoother, faster rolling and improved traction. FLOW: In this mode, the shock behaves like a coil-spring DH shock. The Elevate and Flow air chambers are connected creating a large volume air spring and all oil is routed solely through FLOW damping circuits. Air spring volume is dramatically increased / Spring rate gets very linear and coil-spring-like. This increases travel for a fluid, supple feel and bigger hit capability. The linear-to-progressive spring rate gives a predictable, controlled feel, and prevents bottoming. All oil is routed solely through Flow damping circuits. Since damping duties for other types of terrain are handled by the Elevate circuits, the Flow circuits are optimized specifically around the needs of high speed, aggressive descending. The new ingenious Lefty SuperMax is lighter, stronger, stiffer, smoother and needs less maintenance than any of its competitors. Weighing in at a scant 185 grams, the SuperMax 16 truly sets it apart with its insane stiffness. With rigidity and strength that rivals downhill forks, no other Trail/All-Mountain fork steers as precisely, or descends as confidently as the SuperMax. The only thing bending here is your mind. Gram for gram, SuperMax is the strongest fork in the world. They punch way above their weight class, going head to head in destructive testing with full-on freeride and DH forks. Cross-Country light meets DH tough. SuperMax's massively oversized inverted dual-crown design give it stiffness comparable to the burliest downhill forks, while weighing the same as some XC forks. Light weight efficiency with heavyweight control. The heart of the SuperMax, Cannondale's patented hybrid needle-bearing technology keeps the suspension moving freely, regardless of load. Even under the hardest braking, impact, and steering forces, the wheel is able to track the ground fluidly for maximum control. The damper features a new Wide Mouth Piston which increases oil flow, resulting in improved small bump sensitivity and high speed plushness. These improvements will be especially evident on mid to high speed small, sharp bumps and chatter/braking bump terrain. Low speed compression damping is maintained for optimal chassis stability and minimized pedal bob/brake dive. The new sealed hybrid bearing system is so robust that it requires around half the regular maintenance of the competition. With its long service intervals and completely replaceable wear-parts, you'll spend less time and money servicing, and more time riding. Instead of relying on front suspension companies for off-the-shelf products, Cannondale was able to tailor their forks specifically for each bike platform, creating the most optimized front end geometry and handling possible. SuperMax features wheel-size-specific axle offsets 6 mm on SuperMax 29 and 5 mm on SuperMax 27.5, both 1 mm longer than their competitors. This increased offset combined with OverMountain's slack head angles offers the best combination of high speed stability and low speed agility and cornering. The effect is so significant that one magazine reviewer called the Trigger 29 with Supermax "nothing short of revolutionary". The new SuperMax Lefty hub features also a wider flange spacing which allows increased spoke angle for a stronger, stiffer wheel. Lighter and stiffer than aluminum, more shockproof than steel. Ballistec carbon frame can shake off rock strikes and impacts that would destroy Jekyll's flimsy competition. Tube2Tube Construction is a time intensive and expensive construction procedure which is used by Cannondale to create every tube individually and to arrange the unidirectional fibers exactly. This results in increased stiffness and further reduced weight. The X-12 thru axle and dropout system provides the stiffness of a 12 mm thru axle with the quick wheel changes and ease of use of a quick-release wheel. The ECS-TC SYSTEM stands for a clamped, 15 mm thru-axles in the shock linkage and swingarm pivot, as well as double bearings at the rear dropouts. That eliminates flex and provides unmatched center-stiffness for complete control. In addition, the frame comes with modern PF3 bottom bracket standard. The Jekyll Carbon is equipped with a SRAM X1/X1 drivetrain for smooth shifting performance with 1x11 gears. Hydraulic SRAM Guide disc brakes allow great braking power. The wide handlebar provides maximum performance and the rock solid but still light, UST tubeless wheelset with WTB Frequency Team i25 rims forgives even muffed hard landing. Also contributing to the enormous versatility is the KS LEV Integra adjustable seatpost. It saves the seat adjustment before and after downhill sections.
