Forget about diamonds, CAAD1 is a woman's best friend! Weighing in at just 12 grams for a 48cm frame, complete with hardware, and featuring Cannondale patented SPEED SAVE technologies, CAAD1 not only is the lightest aluminum road frame ever created, it's lighter than most of the competitors' elite carbon frames. Purposefully re-engineered for women with a lighter tubeset and dialed with all-new women's race geometry. CAAD has a long heritage with Cannondale, and the newest version is the best yet. Cannondale Advanced Aluminum Design (CAAD) stems from the basic principle that technology and advanced manufacturing technique will make a faster, smoother, lighter and finally better bike. The CAAD1 is a major departure from other versions which have been on the market for a few years. Cannondale has incorporated the SAVE technology to allow a more comfortable and better handling on the road. They also took a tapered steering tube design to increase handling and stability similar to the SuperSix. The new top tube is absolutely massive! Stiffness and lightweight in its perfection. Aluminum might appear to be an obsolete frame material, but don't show that towards the newly developed CAAD1 frame. By improving the aluminum in the previous 661 towards 669 and slicing almost over 2 grams from the CAAD8 that beat it. The true smooth welds help to create a stronger, stiffer frameset. Also worth noting would be that the frame is really full of details every present-day carbon frame has. Cannondale uses some frame components from their carbon versions like the SAVE Stays along with a flattened top tube used at their MTB F-Series to complete the CAAD1 frame. Using the concept of increasing power transmission, the CAAD1 works with Asymmetric Chain Stays which are higher and rectangular about the drive side. A BB3 bottom bracket joins the group of flared tubes. The CAAD1 is responsive, although not too twitchy. The bike will handle quite simply. Its race-inspired geometry continues to be refined to create an all-around balanced bike. The BB3 also plays a role in the remarkable power shift. The frame tightness is nearly similar to a great carbon frame, but with a noticeable positive change whenever poor pavement or rougher roadways to be cycled. There is a bit more feedback from the road when compared to most carbon bikes. For effortless climbing and speed-limit-breaking sprints, the CAAD1 sports Cannondale's most advanced aluminum frame. Its large BB3 bottom bracket shell is impressively stiff for blazing acceleration and efficiency, while its meticulously shaped tubes are lightweight and compliant, so stronger and longer rides are no problem. Up front, the full-carbon SPEED SAVE fork with a tapered steerer handles corners and uneven pavement with ease. The CAAD1 Womens bike is equipped with a number of solid parts, namely, Mavic Aksium wheels along with a Shimano 15 drivetrain and Cannondale Si crank. This bike is perfect for mid to amateur racer or competing team road lady bikers who desires the certain feel of aluminium and sensing a few road vibrations.
