Legendary DNA! As one of the pioneers of oversized aluminium tubes and ultra-lightweight bicycles Cannondale displays its knowledge, experience and technology in the new CAAD Optimo. It replaces the former CAAD8 and has many features derived from the popular CAAD12. The Cannondale CAAD Optimo 15 Road Bike shares many features with its higher priced brethren. The geometry is actually identical to the CAAD12 and it is designed the same way - with Cannondale's Tube Flow Modeling design process. This method uses advanced software to evaluate tube forming for factors like weight, stiffness and aerodynamics. The down tube is not round in profile and oversized any more while optimized chain stay and seat stay shaping - Save Stays - provides lateral rigidity while providing vertical compliance for bump absorption and comfort with no loss in power transfer. The chainstays are apparently asymmetrical, with the driveside oversized for extra resistance to twisting. But this feature isn't visible to the human eye, so no need to worry about a lopsided bike. The groupset is not complete 15 - a little money has been saved by spending an FSA Gossamer crankset, which nevertheless uses the same BB3 bottom bracket system as 15. TRP Spyre disc brakes have their duty defined in stopping the bike immediately in all weather conditions. The combination of riding characteristics and components make this bike perfect for any riders level. CAAD Optimo - Makes people to cyclists!
