The All-Rounder! Made for dirty and fast races. Super stiff, lightweight and rock solid. The CAADX has been updated to be a remarkable tool for an extreme sport. For model year 217, there is now internal routing cables and a Flatmount disc brake mount on the chain stay. Whether you're jumping into the world of cyclocross or you just want an extremely versatile and usable bike for training, commuting or adventuring the Cannondale CAADX Disc Cyclocross Bike can deliver. With hourglass SAVE seat stays, asymmetric chain stays and every tube designed to work together to give a smoother, stiffer, better ride. And with full rack mounts it shows the bikes adaptability. The stays are slender with a gentle curve when viewed from above. At the bottom of the frame is a BB3 bottom bracket. The oversized spindle certainly has stiffness advantages. The tapered head tube takes a integrated headset. The chainstays are apparently asymmetrical, with the driveside oversized for extra resistance to twisting. But this feature isn't visible to the human eye, so no need to worry about a lopsided bike. According to Cannondale the CAADX frame has a slightly taller head tube and more relaxed head angle. Combined with the shallow-drop bars all possible hand positions are readily accessible. Forged dropouts include a replaceable derailleur hanger and hidden rack mounts. There are also two pairs of bottle bosses. The "true smooth welds" help to create a stronger stiffer frameset. This technology also gives the frames the flowing look usually associated with fillet brazing, rather than the "toothpaste" welds commonly associated with aluminium. Just to summarize all that can be said: Cannondale took its proven aluminum frame and tweaked the geometry for a superior cross-specific ride and the perfect all-terrain road bike. Along with the gorgeous, great-handling aluminum frame and carbon fork, you get a tough wheelset and a precision-shifting Shimano 15 11-speed drivetrain with light, stiff FSA Gossamer compact cranks and powerful TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes.
