CAAD1 meets Track! CAAD has a long heritage with Cannondale with a new, exciting chapter - the Track. Aluminum might appear to be an obsolete frame material, but don't show that towards the newly developed CAAD1 Track frame. By improving the aluminum in the previous 661 towards 669 and slicing almost over 2 grams from the CAAD8 that beat it. The true smooth welds help to create a stronger, stiffer frameset. Also worth noting would be that the frame is really full of details every present-day carbon frame has. Cannondale uses some frame components from their carbon versions like the SAVE Stays along with a flattened top tube used at their MTB F-Series to complete also the CAAD1 Track frame. Using the concept of increasing power transmission, the CAAD1 Track works with Asymmetric Chain Stays with horizontal dropouts which are higher and rectangular about the drive side. A BB3 bottom bracket (with BSA adaptor) joins the group of flared tubes. The CAAD1 Track is very responsive, although not too twitchy. The bike will handle quite simply and will traverse the oval like on rails. Its track geometry continues to be refined to create an all-around balanced bike. The frame tightness is nearly similar to a great carbon frame. For effortless rounds and speed-limit-breaking sprints, the CAAD1 Track sports Cannondale's most advanced aluminum frame. Its large BB3 bottom bracket shell is impressively stiff for blazing acceleration and efficiency, while its meticulously shaped tubes are lightweight and compliant, so stronger and faster rides are no problem. Up front, the Carbon Track fork with a tapered steerer handles steep curves with ease. The CAAD1 Track bike is equipped with a number of solid parts, namely, SRAM Omnium crankset with 1/8" track chain and super stiff Mavic Ellipse Track wheels. This bike is perfect for mid to amateur racer or competing team road bikers who need a stylish training bike which can also excel in competition. Note: This bike is a pure sports machine. It does not have two independent brakes and only the fixed drive. The participation on traffic roads is therefore not permitted. A brake mount is in place at the fork, but the braking surface of the special track wheelset is anodized and non milled, which entails a bad braking behavior. Therefore using brakes in combination with that wheelset is not recommended.
