The rebirth of a legend! Cannondales legendary Beast of the East is reborn as a confidence-inspiring, ridiculously fun 27+ hardtail. And all that traction, float and confidence that make it great for their tangled east coast forests also make it great anywhere the trails go up stuff, down stuff, over or around stuff. Let the good times roll! It's made for skilled riders looking to take on more challenging terrain and newbie riders looking for the most forgiving, confidence-inspiring way to learn new skills. The wider rims and big 3. tires let the Beast run lower pressures for ultimate control across the nastiest rocks and roots. The large rolling diameter and increased air volume gives you an incredible approach angle and floation over tricky sections but without the weight penalty of fat bike rims and tires. Unlike many "27+" bikes out there which are really just repurposed 29'ers running 2.8 tires, the Bad Habit's lightweight, Smartformed alloy frame is designed specifically for 27+. Room for full 3. tires, short chainstays and dialed geometry means better performance and more fun. The Beast of the East mainframe are made of SmartFormed Alloy. It also got an Ai-Drivetrain like the F-Si. It's an asymmetrically offset rear triangle and drivetrain. The offset shifts the rear hub and drivetrain 6 mm to the right, delivering a rear wheel that is dramatically stiffer and stronger because the spoke tension and angles are equal on both sides. For the Beast it allows Cannondale to fit those big 3. tires and still keep the chainstays short and nimble. The 12 mm travel, 68.5 degree head angle, custom 55 mm fork offset, short chainstays and low-slung chassis offer the perfect blend of speed and capability to let you shred whatever on the mountain throws your way. Suitable for that wide 76 mm bars, shorty 6 mm stems, 18/16 mm brake rotors and wider rims put you in absolute control. The built in Lefty 2. fork comes with a combination of superior needle bearing technology and plain bearings. In contrast to the plain bearing only design of the competition, here a very low-friction guidance of the linear spring movement is achieved. That means that the fork does not have to overcome static friction during super-hard brakes, shocks and heavy steering effort. The wheel can hit the ground always free and guarantees maximum control. For 217 it comes with a new air spring assembly, called 2Spring. This internal update decreases the strut's activation force by 7 lbs and makes for longer service intervals. The Beast 1 is equipped with the SRAM X1/GX for smooth shifting performance with 11-speed. Proven hydraulic Shimano Deore disc brakes allow great braking power. A solid wheelset with wide WTB Scraper i45 rims and WTB Bridger tires provide a guarantee that acceleration forces of any direction transfer directly to the trail. A wide lowriser handlebar provides maximum performance. Beast of the East - awakens the animal in you!
